Introduction from Vice Chancellor

We are pleased you are considering employment opportunities with the Division of Student Affairs at UNC Greensboro. UNCG is a special place! With our commitment to access and excellence, we help transform the lives of our students, over half of whom are first-generation college students.

In Student Affairs, we enjoy strong partnerships with Academic Affairs and others throughout the campus, with a collective focus on student success as it relates to student belonging, student well-being, student engagement, and ensuring students are prepared to perform well academically and persist toward graduation. Our work is rooted in our commitment to the culture of care that permeates our campus.

The Division of Student Affairs is full of incredibly talented professionals who are active in professional associations and our local community. We encourage continuing education, scholarship, and professional engagement, evidenced by the many team members who have published, presented, served on association committees and boards, and earned advanced degrees while at UNCG. Through our close partnership with UNCG’s Higher Education graduate program, our staff have opportunities to work closely with graduate students, by supervising, mentoring, and preparing them to be future professionals.

The quality of our team and the work they do for our students is reflected in numerous accolades. In 2026, we have again been named a Most Promising Place to Work in Student Affairs by The EDU Ledger and ACPA for a fifth consecutive year. We have been designated as a First Gen Forward institution by NASPA and as a Voter Friendly campus by Campus Vote Project and NASPA, a distinction we have held since 2016. We are also proud to be recognized as a Top 10 Military Friendly campus, a Best for Vets College, and a Military Friendly Spouse School. Browse our impact/annual reports and the rest of our website to understand how our commitment to excellence translates into significant actions and initiatives!

We encourage you to explore more about Student Affairs and the work we do. We are excited you are considering a role at UNC Greensboro as you navigate options to advance your career journey.

AARON KIDD
Assistant Director for Strategic Initiatives and Operations
HOUSING & RESIDENCE LIFE

Aaron has been a member of the UNCG community since 2013 where he started as an undergraduate student. During his time as an undergrad, Aaron became a member of the Housing and Residence Life Department as a Resident Advisor. Motivated by that experience Aaron joined UNCG’s SAAHE Master’s Program to learn more about the Student Affairs field. Using his experience and lessons garnered in grad school, Aaron returned to UNCG’s housing department as a Coordinator for Residence Life in 2020 with the goal of providing RAs with the same mentorship and support he received. Today Aaron continues his work for the UNCG community as the Assistant Director for Strategic Initiatives and Operations, where he is developing and implementing operational initiatives to improve not only the residential experience but the RA and CRL experience as well.
