SpartanConnect Usage and Expectations

SpartanConnect is the official UNCG Student Engagement platform, designed to allow students to engage with campus organizations and programming events on campus. It also provides faculty and staff with a central platform to track student engagement and involvement, as well as to advertise and promote events to students.

This information is intended to serve as a clear set of guidelines regarding expectations and the use of SpartanConnect:

  • Student Affairs departments are expected to use SpartanConnect for attendance tracking for all events.  (Event attendance for protected populations does not need to be tracked within SpartanConnect).
  • Departments are expected to enter all events open to students and/or the UNCG community into SpartanConnect for advertising as well as event tracking purposes. Please list the “Division of Student Affairs” as a co-sponsor for all events. This will assist with tracking the impact and the number of events hosted Division-wide.
  • As a reminder, events not entered into SpartanConnect will not be included in the Spartan Weekly email blast.
  • Departments are expected to promote the use of SpartanConnect and ensure programs and events offered by your department are included on students’ co-curricular transcript. (Example: providing information on student staff in your area for inclusion on students’ co-curricular transcript).
  • Assessment for yearly annual reports will rely on data submitted within SpartanConnect, and data should be current and up-to-date.

The use of SpartanConnect is preferred over all other software programs and should be utilized as much as possible to replace Sign-Up Genius, Eventbrite, and other programs.

Please contact Laké Laosebikan-Buggs, SpartanConnect Administrator, to schedule a training or assistance for your department if you need a refresher on the use of SpartanConnect, or require assistance migrating from an existing program to SpartanConnect.
