Professional Development Committee

In Student Affairs, our programs and services provide vital educational opportunities for our students both in and outside the classroom. We help them discover their strengths, develop 21st century skills, and translate their academic experience to life after college. We are confident that the students involved in our programs leave UNCG better prepared to make a significant contribution in their professional/personal lives and in their communities.  Yet we need to pay attention to our own professional development, too.

Staff members across Student Affairs provide vital student support and appropriate developmental opportunities. In this time of economic challenges, I encourage each of you to consider professional development opportunities for yourself that may be offered right here on campus through Human Resources or through our own Student Affairs Professional Development Committee. To have a supportive, challenging, professional work environment that allows each person to excel in his/her position remains important.  Whether it is to refresh current skills or develop new skills, we need to stay engaged in the learning process. Each day, we engage, encourage and enrich our students.  Let’s answer the call to do the same for ourselves.
