Parent and Family Advisory Council

PFAC Logo Updated

The Parent & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is comprised of parents of current UNCG undergraduate students that meet bi-annually to discuss current issues and ideas concerning the UNCG community. PFAC also assists in planning events, contributes to publications for UNCG families, helps raise funds for special projects, recruits new members to the Parent & Family Association, and serves as presenters at SOAR and other UNCG events.

The mission of the Parent & Family Advisory Council of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is to strengthen the quality of the UNCG educational experience by promoting communication, inspiring good will and support for the University, and enhancing high quality programs and educational opportunities for students.

  1. Promote communication between parents and families and the University.
    • The Council will meet twice per year (typically in April and on Family Weekend in September)
    • The Council will serve as a sounding board for ideas brought to them by the University’s liaison to this group.
    • The University will facilitate presentations, discussions and tours for Council meetings and identify appropriate resources for those meetings.
    • The University will maintain a website to which parents and families can turn for timely information.
    • The University will maintain a parent and family listserv that will be used to notify subscribers of significant issues/events on campus.
    • The University will publish a parent and family e-newsletter to provide information of special interest to parents and families.
  2. Inspire good will and support for the University.
    • Council members will work with the university to develop positive relationships in communities across the state and will advocate and promote the University as appropriate.
