UNCG Student Affairs is looking for 100 first-year Spartans to join us for the 2019 Spartan BASE Camp! This 3-day transition experience is focused on Building A Spartan Experience (BASE) for incoming students. During BASE Camp students will build community with other new Spartans through a variety of engaging activities that center around Health, Wellness, Leadership, and Spartan Pride. Spartan BASE Camp is also intended to be fun! Whether it’s building relationships with fellow new Spartans or a day on the high ropes course at Piney Lake, there will be plenty of added excitement!

Program Highlights:
  • Early move-in to residence halls for all BASE Camp participants.
  • Create meaningful relationships with UNCG students, faculty, and staff.
  • Enjoy a few extra days to settle into campus life through a fun and educational experience.
  • Learn effective strategies to manage your health and wellbeing as a first-year student.
  • Explore your leadership potential through self-reflection and community engagement.
  • Experience UNCG’s Team QUEST high and low ropes course!
  • Students living on-campus will stay in their assigned halls and rooms. Students who live off-campus are welcome to attend BASE Camp and must commute to and from the program each day.
  • Must be a first-year student enrolled at UNCG.
Registration Information:
  • Registration must be done through Handshake
  • Program Fee: $50.00. Paid through Handshake
  • Fee includes meals (dinner Monday through lunch on Wednesday), BASE Camp t-shirt, and all program activities.
Cancellation Policy:
  • All cancellations must be made in writing by emailing
  • Program fee is fully refundable if canceled on or before Monday, July 22nd
    No refunds after Monday, July 22nd.
