Founded in 1891, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is one of the three original campuses comprising The University of North Carolina system (now 17 campuses). The University has a long-standing commitment to academic excellence and cultural diversity. UNCG is classified as a research university with high research activity (Carnegie classification) and in the community engagement classification under Curricular Engagement and Outreach and Partnerships. The Univer
sity is an urban doctoral granting institution with an enrollment of 17,397 students, including over 3,000 graduate students from approximately 38 states and over 20 countries. UNCG currently offers 26 doctoral and over 60 master’s programs, including several nationally ranked programs, approximately 45 post-baccalaureate and post-master’s certificate programs, 7 distance and 10 online programs. The University is comprised of the College of Arts and Sciences and seven professional schools (Business and Economics; Education; Health and Human Performance; Human Environmental Sciences; Music, Theatre and Dance; Nursing; and the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering in collaboration with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University). Among its approximately 900 full-time faculty members are scholars nationally known in their field through research and other creative work.

Greensboro, North Carolina
Greensboro is a beautiful and thriving city of 259,000 with many outstanding public and private recreation areas and facilities.
